Do younger or older Australians use more cocaine?

Among Australians who used cocaine in the past 12 months, the majority of all age groups used once or twice per year. The exception to this was 18-24 years; among this group 44% used once or twice per year.

No Australians aged 14-17 years who used cocaine in the past 12 months reported their amount of use in points or grams.

Among Australians aged 18-24 years who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in points or grams, 57% used an average of less than 1 gram per occasion of use; 38% used 1 gram; and 5%** used 2 or more grams.

Among Australians aged 25-29 years who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in points or grams, 41% used an average of less than 1 gram per occasion of use; 44% used 1 gram; and 15%* used 2 or more grams.

Among Australians aged 30-39 years who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in points or grams, 32% used an average of less than 1 gram per occasion of use; 56% used 1 gram; and 12%* used 2 or more grams.

Among Australians aged 40-49 years who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in points or grams, 26%* used an average of less than 1 gram per occasion of use; 69% used 1 gram; and 5%** used 2 or more grams.

Among Australians aged 50+ years who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in points or grams, 26%** used an average of less than 1 gram per occasion of use; 72% used 1 gram; and 2%** used 2 or more grams.

No Australians aged 14-17 years who used cocaine in the past 12 months reported their amount of use in lines.

Among Australians aged 18-24 years who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in lines, 23% used 1 or less lines per occasion of use; 22% used 2 lines; 22% used 3 lines; 10%* used 4 lines; 12%* used 5 lines; and 11%* used 6 or more lines.

Among Australians aged 25-29 years who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in lines, 15%* used 1 or less lines per occasion of use; 24% used 2 lines; 21% used 3 lines; 25% used 4 lines; 6%** used 5 lines; and 9%* used 6 or more lines.

Among Australians aged 30-39 years who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in lines, 18% used 1 or less lines per occasion of use; 25% used 2 lines; 20% used 3 lines; 17% used 4 lines; 9%* used 5 lines; and 10%* used 6 or more lines.

Among Australians aged 40-49 years who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in lines, 15%* used 1 or less lines per occasion of use; 30% used 2 lines; 19%* used 3 lines; 12%* used 4 lines; 12%* used 5 lines; and 11%* used 6 or more lines.

Among Australians aged 50+ years who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in lines, 11%* used 1 or less lines per occasion of use; 42% used 2 lines; 14%* used 3 lines; 16%** used 4 lines; 9%** used 5 lines; and 8%* used 6 or more lines.
