Do men or women in Australia use more cocaine?
The usual quantity of cocaine use among men and women is presented in the graph below.
Among Australian men who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in points or grams, 35% used an average of less than 1 gram per occasion of use; 54% used 1 gram; and 11%* used 2 or more grams.
Among Australian women who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in points or grams, 56% used an average of less than 1 gram per occasion of use; 37% used 1 gram; and 7%* used 2 or more grams.
Among Australian men who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in lines, 17% used 1 or less lines per occasion of use; 28% used 2 lines; 20% used 3 lines; 16% used 4 lines; 9% used 5 lines; and 11% used 6 or more lines.
Among Australian women who used cocaine in the past 12 months and reported their amount of use in lines, 20% used 1 or less lines per occasion of use; 22% used 2 lines; 22% used 3 lines; 16% used 4 lines; 11% used 5 lines; and 9% used 6 or more lines.
