In which industries are Australian employees more likely to have used cannabis in the past 12 months?

The proportion of employed Australians who used cannabis in the past 12 months varies according to industry of employment. Cannabis use is highest in the hospitality (22%), administrative and support services (20%) and construction (19%) industries.

22% of Australians employed in hospitality have used cannabis in the past 12 months, compared to 20% employed in administrative and support services, 17% in media and telecommunications, 19% in construction, 16% in arts and recreation, 14% in wholesale, 16% in retail,13% in professional, 8% in agriculture, 11% in transport, 12% in manufacturing, 14% in mining, 12% in healthcare and social assistance, 10% in finance, 11% in education and training, 13% in utilities, 8% in public administration and safety,12% in real estate, and 20% other services.
