Do male and female Australian school students aged 12-17 years usually drink different alcohol beverages?

Among Australian school students aged 12-17 years who consumed alcohol in the past week, girls usually drank premixed spirits (47%) followed by spirits (24%), while boys usually drank beer (34%) followed by premixed spirits (29%).

In 2017, 29% of male and 47% of female Australian school students aged 12-17 years who drank alcohol in the past week usually drank premixed spirits, 34% of males and 6% of females usually drank beer, 16% of males and 24% of females usually drank spirits, 8% of males and 9% of females usually drank alcoholic energy drinks, and 4% of males and 7% of females usually drank wine.
