How much money do Australian households spend on alcohol each week?

Australian households spent an average of AU$32.35 per week on alcohol beverages in 2009-10. The largest proportion of this alcohol expenditure was spent on beer.

Average weekly expenditure on alcohol is $32.35. Of this, 39% ($12.58) is spent on beer; 26% ($8.47) is spent on wine; 17% ($5.35) is spent on spirits; 1% ($0.44) is spent on other alcoholic beverages; and 17% ($5.51) is spent on general alcohol.
